- Dr Gurunath Gurrala has been selected for the SERB STAR award. STAR is a prestigious award instituted by SERB to recognize and reward outstanding performance of Principal Investigators of SERB projects. The recipients will get a fellowship of Rs. 15,000 per month and a research grant of Rs. 10 lakhs per year for 3 years.
- Prof. Satish (Sl no.147673) and Prof. Narayanan (Sl no. 156038) in the top 2% of Scientists in their fields: World Ranking.
- Prof. A G Ramakrishnan and his postdoc, Dr. Kanishka Sharma got both the best paper of the track and the overall best paper award of the IEEE Bangalore Humanitarian Technology Conference held during Oct. 8 – 10, 2020.

- Prof A G Ramakrishnan has been elected as Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engg. He has also been invited to attend the Language Technologies for All conference (LT4All – 2019) at UNESCO Headquarters (Paris,France) during 5-6 December 2019.
- Prof G Narayanan receives The Jaya Jayant Award for Teaching Excellence for Engineering for the year 2019.
- Dr Kaushik Basu receives Prof. Priti Shankar Teaching Award for Assistant Professors for Engineering for the year 2019.

Dr Pavankumar Tallapragada’s paper titled “Differentially Private Distributed Convex Optimization via Functional Perturbation” which he has co-authored with his collaborators Erfan Nozari and Jorge Cortes, was selected as the winner for the 2019 IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems Outstanding Paper Award. The award was presented at the 2019 Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) held in December at Nice, France.
- Dr Gurunath Gurrala’s paper “Practical Approaches Towards Securing Edge Devices in Smart Grids” was adjudged best paper in the Smart Grid Session in ICPS 2019, held in MNIT Jaipur, 20-22 DEC 2019.
- A paper authored by Prof Satish and his student, Bidhan Biswas, has been adjudged the best paper of the issue in IEEE Trans. Power Delivery.
